Despite the fact that both treatments contain the same active ingredient (botulinum toxin type A), they have some differences in how they are used. Xeomin is a purified form of the neurotoxin and doesn’t contain any additive proteins. These additive proteins are responsible for situations where the Botox® injection might stop having the desired effect, due some people develop antibodies that reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

However, both are extremely effective and convenient treatments for cosmetic procedures. After your treatment, you can expect to see results after a week, and these last between three to six months. Common side effects that shouldn't last long are headaches, mild redness, pain, or swelling around the treated area.
