Avoid dry and itchy skin. Eczema |
What is Eczema? If your skin feels dry, itchy and red, you probably have eczema or atopic dermatitis. It’s a common non contagious condition of the skin, without cure but with the right treatment we can manage the uncomfortable symptoms. There are many types of eczema such as atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, nummular eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and stasis dermatitis. Eczema can appear during childhood, adolescence, or adulthood, and as many as 15% to 20% of people experience this condition at some point in their lives. Symptoms or consequencesEven if the exact cause for eczema is not known, different factors such as genetic and environmental factors can trigger the condition. Usually, it is because an external or in some cases internal "allergen" causes inflammation inside the body, developing the appearance of eczema. The most common symptoms are itchy, dry, sensitive skin; leathery or scaly patches of skin, areas of swelling, and in moderate to severe cases you might develop extremely inflamed skin. |
